The 2005 Full Sovereign Gold Proof Coin was issued by The Royal Mint during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Struck from 22 carat (916.7 fine) gold, the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and Timothy Noad’s distinctive interpretation of St George and the Dragon on the reverse, a special design used in place of Benedetto Pistrucci’s traditional depiction for this year.

This example has been graded PF69 Ultra Cameo by NGC, recognising a proof coin of exceptional quality with strongly contrasting frosted details and deeply mirrored fields. Its one-year Sovereign reverse design, gold content and high certified grade make it a desirable addition to a British gold coin collection.
